1,000 flat cars for intermodal network
Intermodal operator Trans Synergy has ordered 1,000 large-capacity container flat cars from Russian freight car manufacturer UWC. The rolling stock will be delivered in 2021. This is the companies' second deal: 360 similar container flat cars were delivered to Trans Synergy last year.
The ordered model has an increased payload capacity of 74.5 t and a loading length of 24 m. The flat car is designed to carry containers, including refrigerated units, and tank containers with a gross weight of up to 36 t. It is equipped with four fixed and ten movable container pins, to enable transportation of removable containers of various sizes. (ben)
