Qantas accelerates changes at the helm
Qantas group CEO Alan Joyce has advised the board that he will bring forward his retirement by two months. CEO designate Vanessa Hudson, currently CFO, will therefore take over as managing director and group CEO on 6 September 2023.
As planned, shareholders will formally vote on Hudson’s appointment at the airline’s annual general meeting in November.
This means that one of the executive changes announced in June this year will also be accelerated, with Rob Marcolina replacing Hudson as CFO when she moves to the group CEO role. (cj)
