Planea superar los objetivos de reducci\u00f3n de emisiones de la Organizaci\u00f3n Mar\u00edtima Internacional (OMI) y de la Uni\u00f3n Europea (UE) para 2030. Esto se apoyar\u00e1 en la introducci\u00f3n de BioGNL, que tiene como objetivo mejorar a\u00fan m\u00e1s el rendimiento ambiental de la flota.<\/p>\n<p>En 2016, UECC entreg\u00f3 los primeros dos transportadores de autom\u00f3viles y camiones de combustible dual GNL (PCTC), &#8222;Auto Eco&#8220; y &#8222;Auto Energy&#8220;. Estos buques, construidos en el astillero chino NACKS, establecieron nuevos est\u00e1ndares para el transporte mar\u00edtimo ecol\u00f3gico en el comercio RoRo de corta distancia en Europa, seg\u00fan UECC. En los a\u00f1os siguientes, UECC ampli\u00f3 su flota con tres PCTC h\u00edbridos de bater\u00eda de m\u00faltiples combustibles GNL, que se pusieron en funcionamiento en 2021. Estas nuevas construcciones, &#8222;Auto Achieve&#8220;, &#8222;Auto Aspire&#8220; y &#8222;Auto Advance&#8220;, fueron fabricadas en el astillero Jiangnan.<\/p>\n<h3>Estrategia de sostenibilidad e inversiones futuras<\/h3>\n<p>En 2028 se planea la entrega de cuatro PCTC h\u00edbridos de bater\u00eda de m\u00faltiples combustibles GNL adicionales del astillero China Merchants Jinling Nanjing. La empresa sigue, seg\u00fan sus propias declaraciones, una estrategia que incluye la integraci\u00f3n de tecnolog\u00eda GNL con caracter\u00edsticas de eficiencia energ\u00e9tica para lograr ahorros en emisiones y alcanzar los objetivos de cero emisiones netas.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan Glenn Edvardsen, CEO de UECC, la empresa ha reducido continuamente la huella de carbono de sus operaciones en la \u00faltima d\u00e9cada mediante medidas proactivas. Esto se ha demostrado como una ventaja competitiva, especialmente desde la introducci\u00f3n de la regulaci\u00f3n de precios del carbono. Las inversiones en nuevas construcciones tambi\u00e9n han contribuido a reducir la exposici\u00f3n al sistema de comercio de emisiones de la UE (EU ETS) y a operar la flota con un excedente de cumplimiento bajo FuelEU Maritime. Esto permite a UECC evitar recargos y crear potenciales de ingresos a trav\u00e9s de la agrupaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<h3>Progresos en la reducci\u00f3n de emisiones<\/h3>\n<p>UECC se ha fijado el objetivo de reducir las emisiones en un 45 % para 2030 en comparaci\u00f3n con 2014, lo que equivale a aproximadamente 186,600 t de CO\u2082. El a\u00f1o pasado, la empresa registr\u00f3 una reducci\u00f3n de casi 154,500 t de CO\u2082, lo que representa una mejora en comparaci\u00f3n con las 3,200 t en 2017. Adem\u00e1s, UECC ha impulsado el desarrollo de una red de abastecimiento para fomentar la demanda de BioGNL.
