(&#8222;K&#8220; LINE) ha firmado recientemente contratos con China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. para construir cuatro transportadores de autom\u00f3viles que pueden funcionar con GNL (gas natural licuado). Esto permite a KESS transportar no solo autom\u00f3viles, sino tambi\u00e9n cargas pesadas y sobredimensionadas. Otro aspecto de los nuevos barcos es el uso de GNL como combustible para el sistema de propulsi\u00f3n de doble combustible. Esto deber\u00eda reducir las emisiones de di\u00f3xido de carbono (CO2) en un 25 % a 30 % y casi eliminar las emisiones de \u00f3xidos de azufre (SOx), que contribuyen a la contaminaci\u00f3n del aire, en comparaci\u00f3n con los barcos convencionales que utilizan fuel\u00f3leo.
