El objetivo es reducir los contaminantes del aire provenientes de la navegaci\u00f3n y proteger mejor los ecosistemas sensibles.<\/div>\n<div>Las \u00e1reas de control de emisiones (ECA) tienen como finalidad reducir las emisiones regionales de \u00f3xidos de azufre, \u00f3xidos de nitr\u00f3geno y part\u00edculas finas. De este modo, se busca mejorar la calidad del aire y disminuir los riesgos para la salud. Las regulaciones entran en vigor de inmediato, aunque hay un per\u00edodo de transici\u00f3n para l\u00edmites de azufre m\u00e1s estrictos que se extender\u00e1 hasta marzo de 2027.<\/div>\n<div>Enfoque en otras fuentes de emisiones<\/div>\n<div>Adem\u00e1s de los avances en contaminantes cl\u00e1sicos, la organizaci\u00f3n exige medidas adicionales para reducir las part\u00edculas de holl\u00edn. Estas contribuyen significativamente al calentamiento del \u00c1rtico y aceleran el derretimiento de las superficies de hielo.<\/div>\n<div>Aumento de la presi\u00f3n para actuar<\/div>\n<div>La navegaci\u00f3n en el \u00c1rtico est\u00e1 en aumento, lo que tambi\u00e9n incrementa las emisiones.
