Dado que en el transporte de mercanc\u00edas circulan los trenes m\u00e1s pesados, dependen especialmente de una pendiente menor (idealmente un m\u00e1ximo de <a href=\"https:\/\/die-gueterbahnen.com\/news\/zahl-des-tages\/4.html\">cuatro por mil<\/a>). El t\u00fanel de Rastatt fue construido de acuerdo con las normas vigentes de DB Netz AG de tal manera que los trenes de pasajeros ligeros y de aceleraci\u00f3n r\u00e1pida pueden circular sin problemas por las rampas construidas con un 12,5 por mil, pero los trenes de carga m\u00e1s pesados no.
