La operaci\u00f3n de estas locomotoras funciona tanto con di\u00e9sel como el\u00e9ctricamente. Esto genera un ahorro anual de ocho millones de litros de di\u00e9sel. Como alternativa a la locomotora di\u00e9sel convencional, el Vectron Dual Mode ofrece lo mejor de dos mundos: en tramos electrificados, opera de manera completamente el\u00e9ctrica para ahorrar combustible y reducir costos de mantenimiento.
