News from Nars
At its annual meeting in May this year, the North American Rail Shippers Association (Nars) elected new officers, honoured industry professionals with two major awards and announced its 2023 scholarship recipients.
The Nars offices for 2023–2024 are: president John Meyers, DM Bowman Company; first VP Kate Luce Bourgeois, Mississippi Export Railroad; second VP Ray Hufnagel, Plastic Express; treasurer Torri Stuckey, CSX; secretary Harry Zander, Patriot Rail; and immediate past president Bruce Mann, Port Houston.
Patrick J. Ottensmeyer received the Hamberger Award. He is now an advisor to the CEO of the newly formed CPKC and was the CEO of KCS for many years.
Nars also Tracy Stein elected as its Person of the Year for 2023. She joined Nars as its executive director in 2021. (cj)
