Turkish Cargo targets Ceiv Li-batt certification

Turkish Cargo, the air cargo brand of Turkish Airlines, has joined the "Ceiv Lithium Battery" (Li-batt) certification programme created by the International Air Transport Association (Iata). The carrier formalised its participation in the initiative, which comprises training, assessment and validation processes, at the signing ceremony held during the Iata World Cargo Symposium which is taking place this week in Istanbul.

Iata’s global head of cargo Brendan Sullivan: "The European freight market is one of the largest in the world, accounting for close to a quarter of total global trade. Having Turkish Airlines, one of Europe’s largest cargo carriers, achieve Ceiv Li-batt certification is a significant boost for meeting shippers’ expectations in terms of the safe transport of goods containing lithium batteries."
