Tir hubs and cross-borders routes open in China
The Tir transport market in China is booming. In 2024 alone the number of Chinese Tir operators and vehicles skyrocketed, growing by more than 400%. Five Tir hubs and 50 cross-borders Tir routes opened in the country. Tir operations to and from China increased by 88% and transport operators from no less than eight countries conducted Tir operations to and from China.
Additionally, 35 border crossings and inland Chinese cities facilitated Tir operations. This supported more than 50 cross-border Tir routes, unlocking new destinations along Sino–European corridors, the International Road Union (IRU) has reported.
As the organisation’s balance sheet for 2024 further shows, five IRU-accredited Tir logistics hubs opened in Chinese inland cities, with sites in Kashgar, Urumqi, Zhengzhou, Shenyang and Chengdu. (ben)
