Three US short line railroads change ownership

R. J. Corman Railroad Group has acquired the three US short line railroads Owego and Harford Railway (OHRY), Lehigh Railway (LRWY) and Luzerne and Susquehanna Railway Company (LS) as well as TranZ, a transload service provider operating on the short line railroads.

TranZ runs a bulk transfer station on the Lehigh Railway in Wyalusing, PA. OHRY is a 43 km railroad in New York. LRWY operates on 90 km of track in North-Central PA owned by Norfolk Southern Railway Company, whereas LS manages over 97 km of track in Northeastern PA.

All in all, the three lines transport over 14,000 carloads annually, interchanging with Norfolk Southern and Reading Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad. The closing of the takeovers is subject to customary regulatory approvals. (ben)
