Three more locomotives for UK’s rail network

GB Railfreight (GBRf) is going to lease three Class 66 locomotives from Beacon Rail Leasing. The locos will be introduced to the UK rail network from Sweden. These locomotives are the most widely operated modern freight locomotives in the European market and will further strengthen GBRf’s already reliable fleet, according to the operator.

Prior to entering service, the locomotives will undergo upgrades in Gothenburg (Sweden), before being shipped to Immingham in the UK and transferred to EMD’s Longport facility for conversion to UK specifications.

The locomotives will have Train Bourne safety systems, cab and system specific reliability as well as GBRf livery. (ben)
