Third time record for the port of Yantian
The world’s largest container vessels called at the port of Yantian (China) recently: “MSC Tessa” and “MSC Celestino Maresa”, with a carrying capacity of 24,116 teu, arrived on 21 March and 4 April 2023, while “OOCL Spain" (24,188 teu) and "MSC Irina" (24,346 teu), arrived on 26 March and 11 April 2023.
This is a record because the 400 m long container vessels chose to dock at this port and not at another in the region.
Yantian is being chosen globally for its deep-water port conditions and first-class service efficiency. Other advantages are the port’s good connections to the hinterland and its capacity to handle containers in any weather and in a two-way navigation channel. (lh)
