Texan cats can fly!

Air Charter Service (ACS) arranged a special charter to transport 58 rescue cats from Houston TX to a sanctuary in Idaho (USA). A Metroliner III was selected as the most suitable aircraft for the 2,700 km journey.

Richard Thompson, president of ACS Americas, explained that the rescue was arranged after the organisation ‘Pilots to the Rescue’ referred the cat owner to ACS. She was personally relocating from the Houston area to Idaho and wished to relocate 58 cats that she had rescued to their new home there. The cats were safely transported in USDA-approved crates and are now settled in their new home.

ACS has extensive expertise in pet and rescue animal transport. In 2018, the firm relocated 240 homeless cats and dogs after hurricanes hit Texas. More recently, ACS has arranged long-distance pet charters, including flights from Hong Kong and New York to the UK. (ah)
