Tesla Semi meets DHL’s expectations

DHL Supply Chain USA has decided to integrate the Tesla Semi into its fleet in the USA by 2026. Over a two-week trial period this summer, DHL deployed the e-truck for 5,000 km of normal operations out of Livermore, Ca (USA).

The test included one long haul of 625 km – fully loaded with a gross combined weight of 34 t – confirming Tesla Semi’s ability to carry typical DHL payloads over a long distance on a single charge.

During the trial, the test vehicle averaged 1.72 kWh/mile operating at speeds exceeding 80 km/h on average for over half its time on the road. The result exceeded DHL’s expectations and even Tesla’s own rating, the logistician said. (ben)
