Temperature-controlled network Down Under

Lineage, a temperature-controlled logistics provider, has opened a cold-storage facility in Tauranga, New Zealand. The hub has over 16,000 pallet positions.

Focus has been put on the sustainability of the site. By installing a rainwater harvesting system for refrigeration condensing, rapid doors on chambers to minimise temperature fluctuations, and an 890 kW solar array for power generation, Lineage aims to cut carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency.

Located less than 20 km away from the port of Tauranga, the hub has access to sea freight networks in the region. It will be Lineage’s 25th facility in the country, complementing its existing network in the islands. “We’re very proud to grow our network in New Zealand to meet the needs of our customers in this market,” says Lineage president for Asia Pacific, Brooke Miller.
