Supply Chain Valley in Venlo is born


A new hub for innovations in the supply chain is being created in Venlo in the Netherlands. Various companies, including online retailer vida XL and the companies Moonen Packaging, Seacon Logistics and Arvato Supply Chain Solutions, as well as the Brightlands Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (Bisci) of the University of Maastricht, joined forces to found a Supply Chain Valley (SCV) at the end of August.

 

The partners rely on cooperation among themselves and with governments, other companies outside the SCV and scientific research. In accordance with its mission statement, SCV aims at achieving tangible results in the fields of "sustainability, end-to-end digital supply chains, shared economy, workforce of the future and warehouse of the future".

 

The team is supported, amongst others, by the University of Maastricht, TNO, the Fontys University of Applied Sciences und die Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. SCV plans to open its own premises in Venlo in 2021. (sh)
