Stockholm increases throughput in first quarter
The Swedish Ports of Stockholm performed well in Q1/2022. Container and bulk throughput soared strongly by 16 and 19%, respectively, compared to Q1/2021. Ro-ro transport saw a rise of 73,000 t of freight, up 4% from Q1/2021, due to the introduction of two new ro-ro routes.
Hansa Destinations services on the Nynäshamn–Rostock route began in August last year, and in February, Stena Lines introduced its Stockholm Norvik–Hanko route.
Stena Line posted the greatest increase as, in addition to the new route, it also added a second extended ro-ro vessel on its Stockholms Norvik–Ventspils route. (sh)
