Starlux doubles up
Starlux Airlines from Taiwan has placed a firm order with Airbus for five more A350F freighters. This doubles the airline’s initial order from last year for five of the all-new cargo aircraft, as mentioned in our article.
The A350F fleet will be operated by Starlux Cargo on some of the world’s busiest freight routes. To date Starlux Airlines operates a fleet of 26 Airbus aircraft, including A321neos, A330neos and A350-900s.
The A350F, currently under development, will be able to carry payloads of 111 t and fly up to 4,700 nm / 8,700 km. Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines, the aircraft will bring a reduction in fuel consumption and carbon emissions of up to 40%, compared to previous generations of aircraft with similar payload and range capabilities.
