Sardinia now closer to Italy

The Grimaldi Group has extended its services between the ports of Salerno and Cagliari by deploying the modern ferry ‘Venezia’. The Italian-flagged vessel has the capacity to carry 2,250 lane metres of vehicles, which corresponds to about 130 trucks; plus 1,000 passengers and 200 cars.

The ro-pax connection between Salerno and Cagliari offers the most departures between southern Sardinia and southern Italy. It operates thrice a week, with departures every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening from the port in Campania to the Sardinian capital. The return leg from Cagliari sails on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. (cd)
