Röhlig banking on digitisation and expansion

In 2022, Bremen-based logistics company Röhlig Logistics achieved the "most successful year in our company's history", as managing partner Philip W. Herwig explained. The family-owned business does not publish revenues, yet ebit increased from EUR 61 million to EUR 84 million compared to 2021.

Gross profit improved from EUR 213 million to EUR 276 million over the same period. In detail, gross profit in sea freight increased by 58%, in air freight by 31% and in contract logistics by 11%. Strategically, Röhlig is promoting its digital profile and services in close cooperation with the two spin-offs, Cargonerds and Logineer.

Röhlig’s success in 2022 was particularly due to the positive development of the company’s core markets in Australia, Germany, South Africa and USA. Regions such as Southern Europe and Latam, as well as the United Arab Emirates branch, which was opened in 2021, also played a significant role.

The joint venture Röhlig Penske Logistics, with locations in Germany and the Netherlands, showed a good performance as well. Herwig also mentioned a possible expansion of "our global network in 2023. " (sh)
