No end to newbuilds?

The order book is impressive. The Chinese shipbuilders of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding have inked contracts for 22 newbuilds. Their approximate value is estimated at USD 2.5 billion, taking the group's total orderbook to around USD 10 billion.

MSC is the driver with an order of twelve LNG dual-fuel 16,000 teu containerships and further ten bulk carriers, consisting of four 32,000 dwt and six 66,000 dwt units. Just before this year’s booking period ends, the Singapore-listed company has secured new orders for 40 vessels worth around USD 3.6 billion, almost doubling its FY/2022 target of USD 2 billion.
