New VP for Germany's goods transport office

Christian Hoffmann has been appointed as vice-president of Germany’s federal office for freight transport (BAG). He was selected by the country’s ministry of transport and digital infrastructure.

Hoffmann has worked for BAG since April 2005, and was head of the BAG’s control services department for several years. He will continue to lead the central services department in his capacity as vice-president. Hoffmann succeeds Robert Maiworm, who retired in September 2018.

Andreas Marquardt, BAG president: observed: "I am pleased with the ministry’s decision because it ensures that we – i.e the president and vice-president – will be able to shape BAG’s future.” (lh/mw)
