More intermodal links for Czechia

Railcargo Group, the railfreight subsidiary of the Austrian railway ÖBB, has improved train services between Czechia and the North Sea ports. The new shuttle runs once a week in both directions between Melnik (Czechia) and Wilhemshaven (Germany) and offers connecting services to other terminals in Czechia and Slovakia.

The transfer train is particularly suitable for ISO containers, but hazardous goods transports are also part of the portfolio, RCG says.

The freight railway handles 463,000 trains a year, or around 1,270 daily, transporting a total of 94 million net tonnes, and also handles end-to-end connections from the first to the last mile within Europe and in Asia. (ben)
