More e-transporters to serve Jakarta and Bandung

DHL Express is adding 24 electric vans to its last-mile delivery fleet in Indonesia, which will allow it to save 177 t of carbon emissions per year. The e-vans will serve Jakarta and Bandung. Currently, four electric vans and six electric bikes are in service in the Jakarta and Surabaya areas.

The new electric vehicles will be the start of a wider plan for a more sustainable fleet. The company is also investing other low-carbon solutions, such as e-trucks and solar panels for its facilities in Indonesia, DHL said.

Worldwide, the group has earmarked a total of EUR 7 billion for CO2 reduction measures to be taken until 2030. This includes electrifying 60% of its last-mile delivery fleet. (ben)
