Mixed skies above Liège airport

With 1,005,676 t transiting through its facilities in 2023 (-11.8%), Liège airport remains in pole position in Belgium and among the European players. Q4 increases in cargo movements (+3.3%) and imports tonnage (+2.3%) suggest a slight recovery in the market.

CEO Laurent Jossart: "Even if the reference year is already a long way off, it's worth noting that we are gaining 11.5% in tonnage in 2023 compared with 2019, while having digested the FedEx restructuring (from April 2022) and the departure of Air Bridge Cargo Airlines following the outbreak of war in Ukraine."

Looking back on his first full year as VP sales and marketing, Torsten Wefers, until March 2022 head of cargo at Cologne Bonn airport, posted on LinkedIn "thanks for welcoming 'the German' part of a fantastic team!" (ah)
