Milestone for intermodal terminal in Barcelona

In Spain, the port of Barcelona and infrastructure manager Adif have jointly created the Train Port Barcelona company to promote freight transport. At its Barcelona Port Rail Management Centre, the JV wil plan and coordinate services between Can Tunis station and the port of Barcelona's railway terminals. It will also provide train manoeuvring and operations services and in future operate a new intermodal terminal to be built at the port.

In addition, Train Port Barcelona will manage the La Llagosta intermodal and logistics terminal under a lease regime. The port of Barcelona and Adif each hold a 50% stake in the newly founded company. (ben)
