Kale to support customs clearance at KIX
Kale Logistics Solutions has deployed its ‘Galaxy’ cargo management system at Japan's Kansai airport (KIX), automating customs clearance for the CKTS Company. The first phase has streamlined shipment triggering and document acceptance, reducing manual processes, delays and duplication.
“The move marks Kale’s strategic entry into Japan, advancing air cargo digitalisation,” said Atsushi Kato of CKTS. Handling 140,000 t of cargo annually, CKTS expects further efficiency gains in the next phase, which will introduce handheld terminals for live shipment tracking and customs reporting.
The phased rollout ensures smooth integration without disrupting cargo flows. “Our CMS has been instrumental in modernising operations globally and its expansion in Japan is a key milestone,” said Vineet Malhotra, co-founder and director of Kale Logistics Solutions. (ah)
