JD Logistics launches Shenzhen–Bangkok flight
Jingdong Logistics has launched an air cargo route between Shenzhen (China) and Bangkok (Thailand). The maiden flight took place on 3 January and was conducted by JD Airlines. The aircraft carried “a full load of cross-border e-commerce goods” to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport, as the company stated in a blogpost.
The route is primarily used to ship Chinese products, including electronics, apparel, small appliances and manufactured goods. In the opposite direction it will enable the export of seafood from Thailand.
The company operates the route thrice weekly, leveraging transport and delivery resources “to ensure efficient distribution in Thailand,” the company stated. JD logistics released an expansion roadmap in December, with the goal “of establishing a 2-3 day delivery circle.” (js)
