Italy: a train from north to south
Hannibal is launching a new intermodal service between the Milan rail hub in Melzo and the Marcianise-Maddaloni terminal near Naples on Tuesday, 3 December 2024. Operating two weekly round trips, the trains will leave Melzo Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Marcianise on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The affiliate of the Conship Italia Group plans to increase the frequency to three connections per week from Q1/2025. With a capacity of 32 units per train and low-loading wagons, the service will accept all types of containers. Rail traction will be provided by Oceanogate, the Contship Group operator that specialises in railfreight transport. (ben)
