IDS to be carbon neutral by 2050

IDS has announced plans to become carbon neutral by 2050 in its new “IDS Green Logistics” project. The German cargo network comprises 54 depots and 7,100 employees. In 2023, the company adopted a network-wide structure to enhance cooperation in its sustainability strategies.

IDS plans to reduce emissions by 21% by 2030, and by 60% by 2040. These targets are closely linked to the those of IDS’s partners such as DSV, Geis, Kuehne + Nagel and Noerpel.

With its IDS Green initiative, IDS has already launched various processes and projects to optimise its carbon footprint. The network partners will continue to meet and cooperate to help the network reach its goals. (mk)
