IAPH – new VP for Europe

Hamburg Port Authority CEO Jens Meier has been elected as president of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) for the next two years. Haropa’s CEO and chair of the management board Stephane Raison (pictured) and port of Los Angeles executive director Gene Seroka join the IAPH board as regional vice-presidents for Europe and North America.

Raison replaces Jens Meier as IAPH’s regional VP for Europe. This is the first time the post has been held by a French citizen.

In November 2020, Raison was asked by the prime minister of France to merge the ports of Le Havre, Rouen and Paris into a new entity, Haropa, a major project in port and maritime affairs in France and Europe. He has been CEO of Haropa Port, which resulted from the merger, since 1 June 2021. (cj)
