HHLA reports growth in 2024

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has reported preliminary figures for the 2024 financial year, showing a 10.5% increase in revenue to about EUR 1.6 billion and a 22.7% rise in ebit to EUR 134 million.

Container throughput at seaport terminals grew by 0.9% to 5.97 million teu, with Hamburg terminals handling 5.69 million teu, maintaining last year’s level. The intermodal segment saw an 11.6% increase in transport volume, reaching about 1.8 million teu.

“Despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, recession in Germany and supply chain disruptions, we’ve continued to drive HHLA’s strategic development," said Angela Titzrath, chairwoman of the executive board.

The port logistics division recorded a 10.8% revenue increase to EUR 1.56 billion. The real estate division remained stable, with revenues and ebit unchanged at EUR 46 million and EUR 16 million respectively. The final audited financial report for 2024 will be released on 26 March. (js)
