Groundbreaking for East Java multipurpose terminal

International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) has broken ground on the East Java Multipurpose Terminal (EJMT) in Indonesia. Various stakeholders and government representatives were present at the ceremony.

The development will include a 300 m quay line, breakwater, heavy lift breakbulk deck, and dredging of the navigational channel, making it accessible for ships. It will also feature two post-Panamax mobile harbour cranes and other cargo handling equipment.

EJMT aims to serve customers in Lamongan, Tuban, and central Java, supporting the growing economy of East Java and Indonesia. The terminal is set to be operational by September 2024, with construction carried out by local partners. (pb)
