Global liner performance report


Sea-Intelligence has released its global liner performance (GLP) report, providing schedule reliability data up to August 2023. Globally, schedule reliability slightly dipped to 63.2% in August, with minor fluctuations since March. Yoy reliability improved by 17.0 percentage points.

 

Late vessel arrivals saw a small monthly increase of 0.07 days, but they remained 1.23 days better than the previous year.

 

Among the top-14 carriers, MSC achieved the highest reliability at 70.9% in August 2023, followed closely by Maersk and Hamburg Süd at 70.0%. CMA CGM was the sole carrier in the 60%-70% range.

 

Eight others had 50%-60% reliability, while HMM and Yang Ming were under 50%, with Yang Ming being the least reliable at 47.3%.

 

Three top carriers saw monthly improvements in August 2023, with OOCL leading with a 2.8 percentage point increase. Yoy, all 14 carriers recorded double-digit improvements, with MSC showing the largest increase of 26.8 percentage points. (pb)
