Germany-wide distribution for Alnatura
Alnatura’s stores in major German cities have partnered with Spetra Spedition & Logistik as their supply chain partner. The deal covers locations in Berlin, Potsdam, Leipzig, Dresden and Erfurt.
To handle the organic food retailer’s distribution operations, Spetra has installed its own office at Alnatura’s warehouse east of Berlin. From there, it plans to dispatch a fleet of eight distribution vehicles for ten to eleven tours per day. The project involves tight schedules for each store location, making efficient route planning key to operations.
Spetra has created four new jobs off the back of the deal, as it looks to leverage its cold chain expertise in this venture. Founded in 1984, Alnatura has 153 stores in Germany and also sells its products at 13,700 outlets owned by partners. (mk)
