Further expansion in British bulk market

GB Railfreight (GBRF) and building materials supplier Brett Aggregates have launched a new aggregates service in UK from Newhaven, East Sussex, to Thorney Mill, West Drayton. The first train consisted of 17 wagons, transporting 1,350 t of aggregate destined for construction projects in southeast England.

The new service marks GBRF’s continued expansion in the bulk market and brings opportunity to support Brett Aggregates by operating future services from its collection terminals.

The train helps to further shift the transport of aggregates from road to rail in the country and to significantly reduce the environmental impact, GBRF said. (ben)
