Electric and fuel cell trucks on a roll
Mercedes-Benz has opened a charging park with six new fast-charging stations for electrically powered trucks at its Wörth plant in Germany. The manufacturer is also focusing on electric trucks in its own supply chain and aims to electrify 100% of delivery traffic to and from its largest truck plant by the end of 2026.
To date, 20% of the deliveries of production materials have already been electrified. In addition, the company is advancing its deployment of fuel cell trucks. It recently received a EUR 226 million subsidy from the German government for the development and small-series production of 100 fuel cell trucks.
The vehicles will be built at the plant in Wörth and are expected to be put into operation at various customer locations from the end of 2026. (ben)
