Dry-ice logistics with an H2 lorry
The industrial gases company Nippon Gases and its transport partner, the liquid bulk specialist Hoyer, already embarked on the path to sustainable transport solutions in the industrial gases sector in Germany with natural gas-powered transport vehicles five years ago.
Now the partners are going a step further and putting their first hydrogen-powered truck for the transport of dry ice into operation.
The vehicle is a Hyundai ‘Xcient Fuel Cell’ unit. Nippon Gases is the first industrial gases company in Germany to expand its logistics fleet with a hydrogen truck. The new vehicle will save around 69 t of CO2, compared to a conventional diesel truck. (ben)
