Cobantur expands intermodal range
A new rail service now connects Munich (Germany) with Halkali (Turkey).
Cobantur Boltas has deployed a company goods train for the first time, managed by long-standing partner Kombiverkehr. It’ll initially operate once a week in both directions, with plans already underway for a second round-trip.
The train covers roughly 2,000 km each way, crossing six national borders without the need to reload containers. Compared to continuous road freight solutions this intermodal service saves nearly 80 t of CO₂ per round trip – a 70% reduction in emissions. (ben)
