Building its own loco fleet
RZD Logistics (RZDL) has acquired its first two diesel locomotives. They will be deployed for shunting and export work on 1,520 mm gauge railways operated by industrial companies. More acquisitions are planned for 2024.
By building up its own locomotive fleet, RZDL aims to diversify its business activities and expand its logistics portfolio. The company-owned vehicles will help it to respond more quickly to its customers’ requirements, RZDL said. Demand for traction services has been growing in Russia recently. (ben)
