Bangkok Port Authority opens free zone

The Bangkok Port Authority inaugurated a new free zone on 10 January, offering 24,000 sqm of warehousing and container yard space, aimed at enhancing services in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region for importers, exporters, international freight forwarders, and service providers.

The Port Authority signed MOUs with Sahathai Terminal and Boxman to bolster international logistics. Full Well Freight, a WCA World member, became the first freight forwarder to operate within the free zone, offering goods consolidation and distribution services.

The central location near major shipping lines promises reduced storage times and shipping costs. The initiative aligns with Thailand's sustainable development plan and economic vision, emphasising security, prosperity, and sustainability. (pb)
