Another step in ‘buy and build’
The Schneider Group has acquired Nord-Transport (NT), both headquartered in Basel (Switzerland), thus strengthening its international road and overseas logistics offering.
NT, known for its strong regional roots and high-quality service, will continue to operate from Arlesheim under its existing management team, now led by Christian Keller and Beat Weisskopf.
Customers will benefit from Schneider’s global reach, whilst retaining the personal services they know. Owner Dominic Rumpel cited rising complexity in compliance, data protection and IT security as key reasons for the sale. He expressed confidence in Schneider as a strong and value-aligned partner to secure NT’s future. All employees will remain on board, ensuring continuity and long-term development potential in the growing Schneider family.
Schneider Group CEO André Strebel told ITJ editor-in-chief Andreas Haug that “NT fits perfectly into our group.” (ah)
