Amazon and India Post are working to boost deliveries in the country, leveraging the postal service’s network of 165,000 hubs. They aim to meet a growing customer demand for enhanced last-mile delivery capabilities, particularly when connecting to remote or rural areas.

The past few years have seen Amazon expand from six to thirteen pick-up points in the country; the volume of its parcels delivered by India Post has tripled in the last 18 months. This new MOU seeks to strengthen this collaboration and capacity sharing in the companies’ respective networks while optimising resources and efficiency.

Amazon previously also partnered with India Post to launch cash-on-deliveries and joined forces with Indian Railways earlier this year to scale up package distribution. (mk)
