Advanced collaboration in Johannesburg
The city of Ekurhuleni and the Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) have signed a three-year memorandum of understanding to advance cooperation and coordination of the Aerotropolis development at OR Tambo International Airport (Orita) in Johannesburg.
Aerotropolis implements projects and initiatives on and off Orita, “to drive socio-economic development and an economic infrastructure development programme,” as Acsa states in a press release.
With the memorandum, Acsa and the city agreed to provide logistical and operational support and to develop projects of mutual interest. In addition, the city of Ekurhuleni agreed to support Acsa with infrastructure projects, bulk services and by collaborating in land use planning around the airport. (js)
