A vision for Melbourne

The Philippines-based port and terminal operator International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI) has outlined its future vision for the Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT) at the Port of Melbourne.

The operator is planning an investment of AUD 500 million (USD 343 million), in addition to the more than AUD 700 million (USD 481 million) already spent on the facility in place since 2014.

The plan provides for a phased development of the Webb Dock North Container Terminal and an integration of its operations with VICT. The development would increase VICT’s container capacity to 3.7 million teu, allowing for four container berths with the ability to service vessels up to 14,000 teu and up to 367 m in length. (sh)
