A Pinsly railway serves a new Florida hub
The North Florida Industrial Railroad (NFIR), part of the Pinsly Railroad Company, an independent rail services management firm from Jacksonville FL (USA), will serve the new ‘North Florida Mega Industrial Park’, located in the greater Jacksonville region. The corresponding agreement with Columbia County is subject to regulatory approval.
NFIR will provide customer-centric railway services to the park’s tenants. Pinsly is one of the oldest companies in the US short-line railway industry. It was founded in 1938 and started business by undertaking the task of purchasing and rehabilitating the hurricane damaged Hoosac Tunnel and Wilmington Railroad in Massachusetts and Vermont. Today, it owns and operates six short-line/regional railroads in the USA. (ben)
