A day of joy and emotion
The first locomotive to be branded in railfreight operator Frachtbahn's corporate design has been symbolically "christened". The custom, adopted from shipping, has also long been a tradition in the railway industry.
The blue Frachtbahn locomotive was named "Sophie" - after the daughter of company co-founder Jan Klima and thus granddaughter of former Austrian chancellor Viktor Klima.
The branded Vectron 193 764, leased from European Locomotive Leasing Austria since December, was liveried in Linz, Austria, in March.
Austria's youngest player in the European railfreight sector was founded in October 2019 and has since been transporting goods between Austria, Germany and Hungary. (ben)
