2,000 e-trucks for European road networks
DB Schenker has placed a pre-order for 2,000 e-trailers with Trailer Dynamics. The vehicles will be used successively in European road networks from 2024. The investment is a further step for Schenker towards the electrification of land transport.
The trailers can be equipped with batteries of 300 kWh, 450 kWh or 600 kWh, depending on requirements. This means that the range of electric tractor units can be extended by up to 500 km, depending on the assignment. CO2 emissions can be reduced by 20% to 40%.
According to Trailer Dynamics, the trailers can be combined with tractor units from all manufacturers. They are compatible with tractors powered by diesel, gas, electricity, or hydrogen. (ben)
