1,000 km with just one LH2-fill

Daimler Truck has reached another milestone with its hydrogen and battery-powered vehicles. A public road approved prototype Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Truck covered a distance of 1,047 km across Germany with one fill of liquid hydrogen (LH2).

Powered by a cell-centric fuel-cell system and equipped with a liquid hydrogen fuel tank system, the test run began in the afternoon of Monday, 25 September at Woerth am Rhein and finished on Tuesday morning, 26 September in Germany’s capital city Berlin.

The truck completed the run fully loaded and a gross combined vehicle weight of 40 t under real-life conditions, without emitting any CO2 on the entire route. The trial was confirmed by TÜV Rheinland. (ben)
